In my search for DYI tutorials on slipcovering a sofa, I came across Tammy Maltese of "Slipcovers Canada" on Instagram. Her motto of "saving landfill one sofa at a time" appealed to my reduce, reuse and recycle aesthetic. Feeling overwhelmed with the thought of buying expensive fabric, and not being able to sew well enough to satisfy my perfectionism, I wisely contacted Tammy.
To my amazement, she drove to my cottage a half hour north of Ottawa to measure things up, make a pattern, suggest detailing such as piping and skirting and discuss fabrics.
The final product was exactly what I was looking for; a casual, durable, yet elegant
slipcover that I could throw in the wash after kids and dogs had their go at it.
As an experienced sewer of clothing and quilts, I can attest to the excellent quality of her work.
The slipcover fit like a glove and looks amazing.
Her pricing is extremely reasonable, and she met her deadline.
Not only is Tammy a master in her trade, she is simply lovely to deal with.
I would recommend her work to anyone.
